Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Daverion AI (PTY) LTD (“Daverion”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. We are committed to processing personal information lawfully and responsibly, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.
This policy covers the Daverion AI website at daverion.com. Our individual products — TRST, BRDG and SGNL — each operate on their own subdomains and may publish their own product-specific privacy notices that apply in addition to this one.
1. Who we are (Responsible Party)
For the purposes of POPIA, the “Responsible Party” is:
- Daverion AI (PTY) LTD, a private company registered in South Africa.
- Contact email: info@daverion.com
If you have any questions about this policy or about how we handle your personal information, please contact us using the details above.
2. The personal information we collect
On this marketing website we keep data collection to a minimum. We may process the following personal information:
- Information you give us directly — for example, your name and email address when you email info@daverion.com or otherwise contact us, together with the contents of your message.
- Technical information collected automatically — such as your device type, browser, approximate location (derived from your IP address) and pages visited. Whether any of this is collected depends on our hosting provider and any analytics we use; where we use such tools, we configure them to be privacy-respecting.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not intentionally collect “special personal information” (as defined in POPIA) through this website.
3. How we use personal information
We process personal information for the following purposes, each with a lawful basis under POPIA:
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the information or support you request.
- To operate, secure and improve this website.
- To tell you about our products and their availability, where you have asked us to or where we may lawfully do so.
- To comply with our legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
4. Lawful basis for processing
Depending on the situation, we rely on one or more of the following grounds permitted by POPIA: your consent; the performance of, or steps towards, a contract with you; our legitimate interests (such as running and improving our business) where these are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with the law.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Service providers (Operators) who process information on our behalf — for example website hosting, email and analytics providers — under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
- Authorities or advisors where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
6. Cross-border transfers
Some of our service providers (for example website hosting and email infrastructure) may store or process information on servers outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives a level of protection consistent with POPIA.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as required by law. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. How we protect it
We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to keep our practices under review.
9. Your rights under POPIA
Subject to the conditions in POPIA, you have the right to:
- Be told what personal information of yours we hold and to access it;
- Request that we correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained;
- Object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds;
- Withdraw your consent where we rely on it (this will not affect processing that already took place); and
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (see below).
To exercise any of these rights, email info@daverion.com with the subject line “POPIA request”. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Cookies and analytics
This website aims to use as few cookies as possible. Any analytics we use are intended to help us understand aggregate, non-identifying usage so we can improve the site. If we introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
11. The Information Regulator
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you may contact the Information Regulator (South Africa):
- Website: inforegulator.org.za
- Email: enquiries@inforegulator.org.za / POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be highlighted on this website.
This policy is provided for general information and transparency. It is a starting point written with POPIA in mind and does not constitute legal advice. As our products move from “launching soon” to live, product-specific privacy notices will provide further detail.
